Ephesians 3:17-19 — And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God (NIV).
The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone is located at an elevation of 6,181 feet. It varies from 800 to 1,200 feet in depth and from 1,500 to 4,000 feet in width. Its length is about twenty-four miles. At the foot of the canyon flows the graceful Yellowstone River.
Our family recently drove up and down the scenic byway that runs along the rim of the canyon. We stopped periodically to catch different views of it. It’s quite a sight to behold. God’s handiwork never ceases to amaze me. Though the canyon is vast and stretches for miles, it can still be measured. The same cannot be said for Christ’s love. His love surpasses knowledge.
Man cannot comprehend how wide and long and high and deep the love of Christ is. His Grand Canyon of Love has no limits; therefore, it cannot be measured. We may not be able to wrap our minds around the dimensions of Christ’s love, but Paul wrote that we have the power to grasp and know His immeasurable love. Have you grasped this love yet? Do you really know the greatness of His love for you? I am blown away!
If you don’t know His love, I pray today that you may be rooted and established in Him. May you have the power to grasp how wide, long, high and deep the love of Christ is. Another great truth is that He doesn’t love us on different levels. He loves everyone the same. Get to know this love today and be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Receive a revelation of Christ’s love by faith. It will change the way you look at yourself and everyone else.
