Deuteronomy 28:6 — Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out (NKJV).
A few years ago, we visited Galveston, Texas. At the time, our family was facing multiple unknowns. I’ll never forget something Heidi said on that car trip: “Life is mostly about transitions and changes. If you learn to be flexible, you’ll bend and not break.” How true!
Life is constantly progressing from one stage to the next, or season to season. Transition can be very unnerving at times, especially to someone who isn’t flexible. Flexibility is a quality of someone at peace.
When you resist change, you set yourself up to be frustrated because change is inevitable. The opposite of what Heidi said is also true: If you don’t learn to be flexible, you’ll eventually break. Rather than break down because of a fear of the unknown, be flexible. Find your peace in the One who knows everything.
Ecclesiastes 7:8 — The end of a thing is better than its beginning; the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit (NKJV).
