John 14:27 — “Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you” (AMP).
The world offers a form of peace, but it is situational. A person can only experience it when the state of his affairs is at rest. The circumstances surrounding his life dictate whether he’s calm or not, and the person counting on such peace is usually left longing for it.
Sadly, this is the only form of “peace” most people know. They pray for their circumstances to change and become increasingly frustrated when they don’t. If you’re one of them, rather than hope for your situations to change, learn to be content.
Contentment and peace go hand-in-hand, and Paul gave us the secret to being content in Philippians 4:13: We can do all things through Christ who gives us strength. Perfect peace is a state of being only experienced by faith in what Jesus did for you on the cross. He has given you His personal peace. Do yourself a favor and believe in the work He did.
Romans 5:1 – Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (NKJV).
