Matthew 5:8 — “You’re blessed when you get your inside world—your mind and heart—put right. Then you can see God in the outside world” (MSG).
The theme of Jesus’s message here is simple: You and I need to take care of the inside first; then, the outside will take care of itself. Whatever you do (or don’t do) on the inside will eventually be displayed on the outside. It is important for you to understand that your relationship with Jesus is cultivated from your spirit to His Spirit.
For instance, as you grow and develop the God-kind of love on a daily basis, you will naturally begin to demonstrate His love in everyday life. His love—or any of His characteristics—is nurtured in your heart (inside) through prayer and studying God’s word, and then the fruit of love is produced in your words and actions (outside).
You need to wear Jesus inside out like someone would wear his or her shirt inside out. Be diligent about renewing your mind and filling your heart with the word of God. Purpose to cultivate His characteristics in your life, but don’t keep them bottled up. Live inside out.
Galatians 5:22-23 – But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (NKJV).
