John 14:27 — “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (NKJV).
Jesus has given you His personal peace. He did not leave you Great Value peace; He left you the Name Brand! The world can only give you a cheap, generic version of the real thing, but true peace flows from the inside out. It’s not based on the variable conditions surrounding your life, but on the finished work of Christ.
So before you will ever be at peace with others, you must be at peace within yourself. How? 1 Peter 5:7 says, “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you” (NIV). This verse offers two truths you must have a revelation of in order to live in His peace.
First, God cares for you. You are very valuable to Him. In fact, you mean so much to Him that He gave His Son in order for you to have peace. The punishment that brought you peace was on Jesus (Isaiah 53:5).
Next, cast all your anxiety, stress, and cares on Him. Don’t hold anything back. To experience inner peace, you must stop carrying burdens you are not meant to carry.
Psalm 55:22 — Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken (NIV).
