Persevere in Prayer

Romans 12:11-13 — Don’t burn out; keep yourselves fueled and aflame. Be alert servants of the Master, cheerfully expectant. Don’t quit in hard times; pray all the harder. Help needy Christians; be inventive in hospitality (MSG).

The second tip to keep from burning out is to persevere in prayer. Don’t just pray when things are going good or when things are really bad. Pray constantly, at all times, on all occasions!

Prayer is simply a conversation with God. Lift up your voice, cares, and concerns to Him, and then listen for His wisdom, direction, encouragement, and instruction. If you are struggling with how to pray, find out what God’s word says concerning your situation and begin to declare His truth over your life.

If you don’t know where to look in Scripture, Google has made searching the word of God easier than ever. If you are feeling depressed, search for verses that focus on the joy of the Lord. If you are sick in your body, look up healing scriptures. If you’re tired and on the verge of giving up, the Bible is full of truths about perseverance and strength.

You must plant God’s word in your heart in order to proclaim it, and you must proclaim it in order for it to produce anything lasting in your life.
