Not the Way it Used to Be

Romans 8:1-2 — 1 So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ. 2 And because you belong to Him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death (NLT).

As far as God is concerned, your righteousness is forever settled in heaven because of Jesus. He is not anticipating your next mistake with a gavel in one hand and a book cocked in the other. Jesus paid your bail, became your sin, accepted your guilt, and served your sentence all at once. God is never the source of condemnation; He is the source of redemption.

John 3:17 says, “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world” (NIV). The devil is the one who condemns, and he uses people to fulfill this mission. He will work through those who knew you, some who know you, and others who think they do. Don’t listen to any of them.

Separate yourself from people who are a source of guilt. Nothing hinders your future like dwelling in the past. Refuse to allow others to confine you to “the way it used to be.” You are not who you used to be anymore. You are in Christ.
