Romans 12:2 — Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you’ll be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing, and perfect will (NIV).
You can actually have the mind of Christ and think like Him (1 Corinthians 2:16). In fact, you have this capability right now, but He isn’t going to possess your brain and think for you. (That would just be weird.) You must discipline yourself to make your mind new every day. It’s an ongoing, never-ending process. If you’ve ever got up on the wrong side of the bed, you understand what I’m talking about.
In Philippians 2:5-8, Paul wrote that you are to let the same mind Christ had be in you, which means being willing to humble yourself to the point of death. Your mind will never be like Jesus’s as long as you act like you know better than He does. But as you kill off your thoughts with God’s word and through prayer, your mind and life will be transformed.
Choose to think about things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, praiseworthy, and excellent (Philippians 4:8). You are what you think.
