Galatians 3:27 — All who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes (NLT).
One of my favorite pastimes is clothes shopping with my wife Heidi. No, I actually really do enjoy it. She’s quick and loves the sales rack, but mostly, I just like being with her.
Heidi rarely (if ever) gets anything without trying it on, and if she goes into the fitting room, she only does so with items she feels will potentially upgrade her appearance. If she comes out wearing something she took in, then she thinks she looks better than she did. (But I think she always looks great.)
Likewise, God purchased a new wardrobe for you with the blood of Jesus. You have stepped into the fitting room with Christ and a new set of clothes. Don’t come out naked or wearing your old ones.
Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like Him (Colossians 3:10). You might not have looked very good going in, but you sure look good coming out!
