Romans 8:28 – And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose (NKJV).
God promises to use everything for your good—not just the greatest successes of your life, but also the deepest disappointments and failures.
The story of Joseph is one of my favorites. He was thrown into a pit, sold into slavery, eventually imprisoned, and all of it was because of his brothers’ ill intent. There were many twists and turns along the way, but Joseph lived by the popular saying, “God is good all the time, and all the time God is good!”
If God is good on the mountaintop or when the Red Sea parts, then He is good in the pits and the valleys of life. I believe you will see many lives transformed when you allow Him to use and work through the places where you have been wounded in the past.
Jesus Himself understood your weaknesses, and you must identify and connect with the weaknesses of others. Doing so will require you to be vulnerable and honest about what you have been through and struggle with. You must be like Jesus in this sense if you desire to bring positive change to the world around you. Be a living testimony of how a flawed life surrendered to God is still useful because of His grace.
2 Corinthians 12:9 – And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness” (NKJV).
