Don’t Shut Up

2 Chronicles 20:22-23Now when they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against the people…and they were defeated…they helped to destroy one another (NKJV).

As Judah faced impending doom, Jehoshaphat went to the Lord in prayer for help. God gave the king an unconventional strategy: Station the worshipers on the frontlines and praise in the victory. Then the enemy proceeded to kill itself off!

Nothing gives the devil more fits than a believer who lifts up a shout of praise in the midst of adversity. He doesn’t know what to do when you rejoice right in his face—in the middle of his best attack. Your praises confuse Satan and expose his incompetence. Why else would he kill himself off when his enemy was surrounded?!

Your adversary is very real, and Jesus said his desire is to steal, kill, and destroy. His mission isn’t against unbelievers; you’re his greatest threat. Don’t allow him to shut your mouth, or to fill it with naysaying. The rout is in your rejoicing! This win is in your worship, and the victory is in your voice! Glory!!!

Deuteronomy 20:4“For the Lord your God is going with you! He will fight for you against your enemies, and He will give you victory!” (NLT)
