An Unfair Advantage

2 Kings 6:16So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them” (NKJV).

Elisha and his servant found themselves in quite the dilemma. The king of Syria sent horses, chariots, and a great army to surround the city where they were at. He was angry with Elisha because he kept exposing his war plans.

So the servant arose one morning and went outside. He returned to Elisha petrified because Syria’s army had them surrounded. Two men against a large, highly-trained army hardly seemed fair, but Elisha refused to panic.

He knew God was on their side, so he prayed for his servant to be able to see the Lord’s army that was with them. Suddenly, his eyes were opened and he saw. There was a great multitude of horses and chariots of fire filling the mountainside!

Perhaps you are facing a daunting task today, and you feel overwhelmed. I challenge you to rejoice, and ask the Holy Spirit to open your eyes. A mighty army of the heavenly hosts has your back! The odds may be stacked against you, but you still have an unfair advantage. Hallelujah!

Psalm 44:7But You have saved us from our enemies, and have put to shame those who hated us (NKJV).
