Psalm 2:4 — He Who sits in the heavens laughs (AMP).
God literally breaks out laughing at His enemies. He is seated confidently in the heavens and is rather amused by the opposition because He understands the authority He has.
Ephesians 2:6 reminds us that we are seated with Jesus in the heavenly realms and have the same power in Christ. Unfortunately, many believers step down out of their place of authority and engage the enemy on his terms. The devil knows he is a defeated foe, so His only chance at victory is to lure you away from your seat of authority in Christ. When he’s successful, it leads to more weeping than laughing.
Maybe the circumstances currently surrounding your life are no laughing matter. Rather than wallow in self-pity, follow your heavenly Father’s example. Sit down and laugh!
C. S. Lewis once said, “Joy is the serious business of heaven.” When you laugh and rejoice, others may not take you seriously, but God does. He takes care of your business as you praise Him through adversity. Maybe you should start laughing at some things right now. Hahaha!
Isaiah 9:3 — You have multiplied the nation and increased its joy; they rejoice before You according to the joy of harvest, as men rejoice when they divide the spoil (NKJV).
