Psalm 22:3 — But Thou art holy, O Thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel (KJV).
Other versions say that God is enthroned on or dwells in our praise. The Message Bible states that He is leaning back on the cushions of Israel’s praise. I like to say that God makes Himself comfortable in an atmosphere of joy.
Every time we worship Him, He sits down and hangs out with us for a while. I once heard it said, “God shows up in places where He is celebrated, not tolerated.” In other words, He knows where He is and isn’t welcome.
Praise is kind of like holding up a vacancy sign. You’re saying to Him, “Lord, you are welcome here. I have an opening only You can fill. There is no other person or thing that I would rather spend time with. Come in, and have a seat.”
You were called into companionship with Jesus—to have fellowship with Him. He actually wants it more than you. Send out an invitation of praise today.
2 Samuel 22:50 — Therefore I will praise You, Lord, among the nations; I will sing the praises of Your name (NIV).
