Proverbs 12:20 – Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil, but those who plan peace have joy (ESV).
There is a distinct difference between those who plot evil and those who plan for peace. People with revenge on the mind are foolish. They sincerely believe that payback will bring a sense of satisfaction, but it doesn’t. On the other hand, the person who promotes peace is joyful.
Maybe you are currently facing a circumstance that is threatening to steal your joy. If not, you will. In either case, you need to begin putting together your strategy to stay at peace. Devise a plan to maintain your cool.
I would start by arming yourself with scriptures that center on the peace of God. Commit them to memory, and speak them over yourself daily. By doing so, you set yourself up for success.
Ask the Holy Spirit to help you extend mercy to those who have wronged you. Look for ways to bridge the gaps in your relationships. Approach potential problems with peace in mind and joy in your heart. Even if everything doesn’t work out just so, you will still be victorious.
Proverbs 20:3 – Avoiding a fight is a mark of honor; only fools insist on quarreling (NLT).
