Isaiah 26:3 – You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You (ESV).
Your level of peace is tied directly to your state of mind, and your state of mind is determined by where you put your trust. Proverbs 3:5-6 echoes this truth: Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths (NKJV).
When you trust God wholeheartedly, you pay more attention to Him than to your problems. Much peace is lost trying to figure out things that He holds the answers to. Fixing your mind on Jesus gives Him cause to lead you through peacefully, no matter how difficult the path is.
Trust Him today as you face adversity. Quit relying on your own understanding, and relinquish play-calling duties to the Holy Spirit. To trust God means to put Him in charge.
Romans 15:13 – May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit (NIV).
