Romans 12:9-10 – 9 Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. 10 Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves (NIV).
As I mentioned yesterday, when you love God, you will be compelled and excited to love others—really love them. Paul wrote in Romans 12:9 to love people and hate what is evil. I believe he specifically means for us to hate anything that might put a wedge between us and the body of Christ.
What would some of those wedges be? I’m glad you asked. I’ll discuss two of them (one today and the other tomorrow).
Gossip is a big hindrance or roadblock in the church today. Instead of packing news about others to everyone you know or see, take it to prayer. Lift up the people you hear about to God. Nobody needs to hear about someone else’s situation from you except for Him.
