Philippians 4:6-7 – Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life (MSG).
You and I must make choices that allow peace to rule and reign in our hearts and minds. If something is not working or is causing stress in your life, you need to step away and say, “No, I’m not going to lose sleep over this.” In doing so, you maintain your peace.
Peace is a fruit of the Spirit that is cultivated by spending time in God’s presence, discovering purpose in His word, and developing a personal relationship with the Holy Spirit. These things are only done through the power of decision—your decision.
When your heart and mind is set on worry or fear, doubt and unrest come. When your heart and mind is set on God, peace comes. And when peace comes, purpose is fulfilled. Choose peace.
Colossians 3:15 – And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful (NKJV).
