Romans 12:10 – Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves (NIV).
Be the kind of person you want in your inner circle of friends. Nobody in their right mind wants someone who’s dishonest or disloyal close to them. If you want to have trustworthy relationships, be a dependable person yourself. If you sow escape clauses into your relationships, don’t be surprised when people desert you during times of adversity.
Scripture indicates that we should be devoted to one another in love. To be devoted means to have a zealous attachment. It implies ardent loyalty or affection. God’s love in us always compels us to do what’s right in every relationship, but we must choose to follow its lead.
His kind of love is reliable. God never lets us down, and we should do our best to imitate Him. Many people have reputations for being fickle, changing quickly their loyalties, interests, or affections. Don’t be marked by unpredictability. Stick like glue to the relationships God wants you to be in,
Proverbs 17:17 – A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity (NKJV).
