Condemn Condemnation

John 3:17“For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved” (NKJV).

If God did not send Jesus to condemn the world, He certainly didn’t send us to. But when wronged, our flesh wants to set itself up as judge, pronounce our offender guilty, and then sentence (or condemn) him or her accordingly.

Human beings have an affinity for ranking the sins they incur. Then sentences are rendered based on the severity of their suffering, whether real or perceived. I shudder at the thought of how many people I have condemned to the Jonker Penitentiary over the years.

Choose today not to look at people through the pain they’ve caused you. You are not God’s warden, so stop trying to imprison those who violate you. It’s not worth the time or effort it takes anyway.

Romans 2:1 – You may think you can condemn such people, but you are just as bad, and you have no excuse! When you say they are wicked and should be punished, you are condemning yourself, for you who judge others do these very same things (NLT).
