John 14:27 – “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (NKJV).
When our family moved from Troup, Texas, to Forest Hill, Louisiana, Heidi entrusted her brother Kris, her cousin Ryan, and me with packing our house and moving it. I still don’t know what she was thinking.
While “packing,” I strategically chose to leave certain items behind, namely Noah’s turtle-shaped sandbox and the Christmas decorations. They were items Heidi quickly realized were missing when we began to unpack. When she asked me where they were, I said, “I left them; we don’t need them, and I’m not going back for them!”
Likewise, when Jesus packed up His U-Haul and relocated from earth to heaven, He left us His personal peace. He doesn’t need it; He’s not coming back for it, so we might as well enjoy it. Do not let your heart be troubled. His peace is now yours.
Numbers 6:26 – “May the Lord show you His favor and give you peace” (NLT).
