You are a Masterpiece

Ephesians 2:10For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago (NLT).

Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel in Vatican City. Van Gogh’s Starry Night in New York. Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa in Paris, and God’s New You in Christ. What do they all have in common? They’re all considered masterpieces. How do they differ? Three of them are on display in museums, and the fourth is the light of the world (Matthew 5:14).

You are God’s workmanship. He handcrafted you into the person He predestined you to be. Paul wrote in Romans 8:29: “For those God foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son” (NIV). I like to say, “The Father decided to clone Jesus, which resulted in the new you.”

God planned good things for you in Christ. When you accepted Him, you stepped out of the world and into your God-given destiny. Don’t be just another masterpiece collecting dust in a museum somewhere. Fulfill your purpose; imitate Christ.
