Deuteronomy 33:12 – “The people of Benjamin are loved by the Lord and live in safety beside Him. He surrounds them continuously and preserves them from every harm” (NLT).
The chorus of an old song boasts the line, “Safe and secure from all alarms.”
I like this phrase for a couple of reasons. First, it does not say, “Safe and secure with no alarms.” It’s important for you to understand that peace doesn’t guarantee nothing alarming will ever happen to you again. Peace simply calms the nerves that often accompany a sounding alarm.
Secondly, I really like the promise of being kept safe and secure from all alarms. There is nothing so alarming that it can rob you of the safety and security you have in Christ. When you allow His peace to rule in your heart, you will handle with grace situations that once caused you to declare a state of emergency. Glory!
Proverbs 18:10 – The name of the Lord is a strong fortress; the godly run to Him and are safe (NLT).
