John 14:27 – “Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you” (AMP).
The world offers a form of peace, but it is situational. A person can only experience it when the state of his affairs is at rest. The circumstances surrounding his life dictate whether he’s calm or not. The person counting on such peace is usually left longing for it.
Sadly, this is the only form of “peace” most people know. They pray for their circumstances to change and become increasingly frustrated when they don’t. Instead of hoping for your situations to change, learn to be content.
Contentment and peace go hand-in-hand, and Paul gave us the secret to being content: We can do all things through Christ who gives us strength. Perfect peace is a state of being only experienced by faith in what Jesus has done for you on the cross. Do yourself a favor: believe.
Romans 5:1 – Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us (NLT).
