1 Thessalonians 3:12 – And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love to one another and to all, just as we do to you (NKJV).
Contrary to what we may think or feel sometimes, our capacity to love can grow. Nobody is unlovable if we walk in divine love; however, some people will require more love than others.
Love is one of the qualities Peter listed that we are to possess in increasing measure. In fact, if we’re not increasing in love, there’s a pretty good chance we are ineffective and unproductive as Christians.
Jesus said that all men would know we are His disciples if we love one another. Love distinguishes us as believers. Without it, we misrepresent Him because He is love.
We cannot manufacture more of the God-kind of love on our own, but through obedience, the Lord brings the increase. Allow love to overflow to all today.
2 Peter 1:5, 7-8 – In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with…love for everyone. The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ (NLT).
